  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup buffalo hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • For serving: celery sticks, carrot sticks, tortilla chips, pretzel chips, or crusty bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, ranch dressing, buffalo hot sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Fold in the shredded chicken, 1 cup of the cheddar cheese, all of the mozzarella cheese, and most of the sliced green onions (reserve some for garnish).
  4. Transfer the mixture to a 9-inch baking dish or 10-inch oven-safe skillet. Spread evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese over the top.
  6. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, until hot, bubbly, and golden brown on top.
  7. Let cool for 3 to 5 minutes. Garnish with reserved green onions and serve immediately with your choice of dippers.

Notes

For a smooth dip, ensure cream cheese is fully softened. Shredding cheese from a block yields a creamier melt than pre-shredded. The dip can be assembled a day ahead and baked when needed. Adjust hot sauce amount to control spice level.
