This creamy, dreamy dip is the ultimate game-day crowd-pleaser. It combines rich chocolate and salty peanut butter into a no-bake treat that pairs perfectly with an array of dippers. It looks impressive but comes together in minutes with a simple mix-chill-serve method.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (1 block) full-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk or heavy cream, as needed
  • For Garnish: Melted chocolate, crushed peanuts, mini chocolate chips
  • For Serving: Pretzel rods, graham crackers, strawberries, apple slices, potato chips

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until completely smooth, creamy, and free of lumps, about 2 minutes.
  2. Reduce mixer speed to low. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder to avoid a dust cloud. Once incorporated, add the peanut butter, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Increase mixer speed to medium-high and beat for 2-3 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl, until the mixture is very fluffy and well combined.
  4. Check the consistency. If the dip is too thick for easy dipping, add milk or heavy cream, one tablespoon at a time, with the mixer running, until it reaches a creamy, scoopable texture.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm. This chill time is essential for the flavors to meld and the texture to set.
  6. Just before serving, garnish the top of the dip with a drizzle of melted chocolate, a sprinkle of crushed peanuts, or mini chocolate chips.
  7. Place the bowl on a large platter and arrange an assortment of dippers (pretzels, fruit, crackers, chips) around it. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use plant-based cream cheese and butter. Gluten-free dippers like gluten-free pretzels and cookies work perfectly. The dip can be made up to 2 days ahead; store covered in the fridge. If it becomes too firm after chilling, let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.
