This vibrant layered dip is the ultimate patriotic party snack. It features distinct stripes of a creamy ranch and cheese base, a chunky red salsa layer, and a fresh blueberry topping. It’s easy to make ahead and always a crowd-pleaser at summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet (1 oz) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups chunky salsa, well-drained
  • 1 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped for garnish
  • Tortilla chips, pita chips, or sliced baguette for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Fold in the sour cream, ranch seasoning, and cheddar cheese until fully combined.
  2. Spread the white cheese mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish or clear serving bowl. Smooth the top. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to set.
  3. While chilling, mix the drained salsa, diced red bell pepper, and chopped red onion in a small bowl.
  4. Remove the dish from the fridge. Gently spoon the red salsa mixture over the chilled white layer, spreading it to the edges. Return to the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  5. Scatter the fresh blueberries evenly over the red layer. If using, sprinkle the crumbled blue cheese on top.
  6. Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley just before serving. Serve with chips or bread.

Notes

The key to distinct layers is chilling each one before adding the next. Always drain the salsa well to prevent a watery dip. For a lighter version, use Neufchâtel cheese and light sour cream.
