These vibrant Mini Caprese Skewers are a quick, elegant appetizer. They feature fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze. Perfect for effortless entertaining and healthy snacking.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 1 (8-ounce) container fresh mozzarella pearls (ciliegine)
  • 1 large bunch fresh basil (20-30 small to medium leaves)
  • Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling
  • Balsamic glaze, for drizzling
  • Flaky sea salt, to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the tomatoes and basil leaves. Pat the basil dry. Drain the mozzarella pearls and pat them lightly with a paper towel.
  2. Thread one tomato, one folded basil leaf, and one mozzarella pearl onto each toothpick or mini skewer.
  3. Arrange the assembled skewers on a serving platter.
  4. Drizzle generously with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze.
  5. Just before serving, sprinkle with flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper.

Notes

For best results, assemble skewers up to 2 hours ahead, cover, and refrigerate. Add the oil, glaze, salt, and pepper right before serving to keep the basil vibrant. For a dairy-free version, use marinated artichoke hearts or tofu.
