Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 16 ounces refried beans
  • 1 cup chunky salsa
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 2 large tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 1 large avocado, diced
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Beat softened cream cheese until smooth in a medium bowl. Mix in sour cream, taco seasoning, and lime juice until creamy. Set aside.
  2. Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned, breaking it up. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Spread refried beans evenly on a large serving platter or 9×13 dish.
  4. Carefully spread the cream cheese mixture over the beans.
  5. Sprinkle the cooked ground beef evenly over the cream layer.
  6. Spoon the chunky salsa over the beef.
  7. Layer on shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, black olives, green onions, diced avocado, and cilantro.
  8. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.

Notes

For make-ahead, assemble the bean, cream, beef, and salsa layers, cover and refrigerate for up to a day. Add all fresh toppings right before serving. Ensure cream cheese is fully softened for a smooth base.
