Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops, about 1-inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh chopped parsley or green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork chops and sear for 4-5 minutes per side without moving, until a golden-brown crust forms. Transfer to a plate.
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter to the skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 60 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Whisk in honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2-3 minutes, scraping up browned bits, until sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Return pork chops to the skillet, spooning sauce over them. Cook for 1-2 more minutes to reheat and glaze. Garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

For a good sear, ensure chops are dry and do not crowd the pan. Use an instant-read thermometer; cook to 145°F. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
