Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12 count) Hawaiian Rolls
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced deli ham
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced Genoa salami
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced provolone cheese (about 12 slices)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoncini peppers
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the entire sheet of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally to create a top and bottom slab. Place the bottom slab in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, grated Parmesan, red wine vinegar, dried oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper to make the dressing.
  3. Spread about half of the dressing over the bottom layer of rolls. Layer on the ham, followed by the salami, then top with the provolone cheese slices.
  4. Scatter shredded lettuce, pepperoncini, and red onion (if using) over the cheese. Drizzle the remaining dressing over the veggies. Place the top half of the rolls back on.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix melted butter with minced garlic, Italian seasoning, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Brush this garlic butter generously over the top and sides of the assembled sliders.
  6. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
  7. Let sliders rest for 2-3 minutes, then use a sharp knife to slice along the perforations into individual sliders. Serve warm.

Notes

For make-ahead, assemble sliders (without butter glaze) up to 24 hours in advance, cover, and refrigerate. Brush with glaze before baking. Use thinly sliced meats and cheese for best results. Letting sliders rest after baking helps them hold together when sliced.
