Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Brownie Batter Dip:
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • For serving: pretzel rods, graham crackers, strawberries
  • For the Football Rice Krispie Treats:
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 10 oz package regular marshmallows
  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or shortening
  • White icing or melted white chocolate for laces

Instructions

  1. Make the Brownie Batter Dip: In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.
  2. Sift in powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Add brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Beat on low, then medium-high, until fluffy and combined, 1-2 minutes.
  3. Fold in mini chocolate chips with a spatula. Transfer dip to a serving bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Make the Football Rice Krispie Treats: In a large pot, melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth.
  5. Remove pot from heat. Immediately stir in crispy rice cereal until evenly coated.
  6. Press mixture firmly into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Let set for at least 20 minutes.
  7. Use a football-shaped cookie cutter to cut out treats. If no cutter, cut squares and shape ends slightly.
  8. Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Dip the top of each football into chocolate, let excess drip off, and place on parchment.
  9. Pipe white icing or melted white chocolate onto each dipped treat to create football laces. Let chocolate set before serving.
  10. Serve the chilled dip with an array of dippers like pretzels, graham crackers, and fruit alongside the football treats.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese and butter are fully softened for a smooth dip. Press the cereal mixture firmly into the pan to prevent crumbling. Both recipes can be made a day ahead. For dairy-free or gluten-free options, use vegan/plant-based substitutes and certified gluten-free dippers and cereal.
