This overnight oats recipe is the secret to a perfect healthy breakfast. It requires just 5 minutes of prep the night before for a creamy, satisfying, and nutritious morning meal that fuels your day.

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A tiny pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the rolled oats and chia seeds in a 12-ounce jar or container with a lid.
  2. Add the milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Seal the jar and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds, or stir until completely combined.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, but ideally overnight (8-12 hours).
  5. Stir before serving and add your favorite toppings.

Notes

For a vegan version, use plant-based milk and yogurt. Add fresh fruit or crunchy toppings just before eating to maintain texture. If oats are too thick in the morning, stir in a splash of milk.
