A warm, gooey brie wheel topped with sweet-tart cranberry sauce and toasted nuts. This easy, elegant appetizer is perfect for holiday gatherings and cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) wheel Brie cheese
  • 1/2 cup whole-berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, toasted
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup or honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • For serving: baguette slices, crackers, apple slices, or pear slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Let Brie sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  2. Place Brie wheel on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a small oven-safe dish.
  3. Using a sharp knife, lightly score the top rind in a cross-hatch pattern, being careful not to cut through to the bottom.
  4. Spoon cranberry sauce over the top, allowing it to seep into the cuts.
  5. Sprinkle toasted nuts evenly over the cranberry layer.
  6. Drizzle maple syrup or honey over everything. Scatter thyme leaves on top if using.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is soft to the touch and the topping is bubbling at the edges.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Transfer to a serving board and serve warm with bread, crackers, or fruit.

Notes

Scoring the top rind is key for the toppings to flavor the cheese. Do not overbake. Let rest before serving for easier handling. Can be assembled up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerated before baking.
