A creamy, smoky, and tangy condiment that transforms everyday meals. This versatile sauce comes together in just five minutes and works as a dip, spread, or drizzle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup high-quality mayonnaise (like Duke’s)
  • 2-3 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon adobo sauce (from the can)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 large lime)
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1 small garlic clove, finely grated or minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced chipotle peppers, and adobo sauce. Whisk until evenly mixed.
  2. Add the fresh lime juice, lime zest, grated garlic, cumin, and smoked paprika. Whisk to incorporate all ingredients.
  3. Taste the mayo and adjust seasoning. Add more salt, lime juice, or chipotle peppers/adobo sauce to suit your preference.
  4. For best flavor, cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half the mayo with Greek yogurt. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Do not freeze.
