This creamy, tangy whipped feta dip is perfectly balanced with a sweet and spicy hot honey drizzle. It is an incredibly simple yet impressive appetizer that comes together in just 15 minutes. Serve with pita chips or fresh vegetables for a crowd pleasing snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz block feta cheese, drained (preferably in brine)
  • 4 oz full fat cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced (optional)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper
  • For the Hot Honey:
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
  • A pinch of flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Make the whipped feta base. In a food processor, combine the feta, softened cream cheese, 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp lemon juice, and garlic (if using). Process for 1 2 minutes until completely smooth and fluffy, scraping down the sides as needed. Taste and add more lemon juice or black pepper as desired.
  2. Prepare the hot honey. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the honey, red pepper flakes, and vinegar. Warm gently for 3 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the honey is fluid and infused. Do not boil. Remove from heat and stir in the flaky salt. Let cool slightly.
  3. Assemble the dip. Spread the whipped feta mixture into a shallow serving bowl. Use the back of a spoon to create swirls. Drizzle the warm hot honey generously over the top. Finish with an extra drizzle of olive oil and another crack of black pepper. Serve immediately.

Notes

For the smoothest texture, ensure the cream cheese is fully softened at room temperature. Use a block of feta in brine, not pre crumbled feta, for best results. The hot honey can be made ahead and stored in a jar. The plain whipped feta base can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
