Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or ¾ cup for less sweetness)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together pumpkin puree, sugar, and heavy cream over medium heat until smooth.
  2. Add vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  3. Bring to a gentle simmer (avoid boiling) and cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring frequently until slightly thickened and aromatic.
  4. Optional: Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for an ultra-smooth sauce.
  5. Allow to cool completely before transferring to an airtight jar or squeeze bottle. Store in the refrigerator and shake before each use.

Notes

Use this sauce in hot or iced coffee, lattes, or even in oatmeal and yogurt. For a dairy-free version, substitute coconut cream. Freeze leftovers in ice cube trays for easy use later.
