Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
  • 2 tablespoons minced green onion
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 12 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
  • 1 nacho cheese-flavored tortilla chip or bell pepper stem (for the stem)
  • 1 package nacho cheese Doritos, crushed (for coating)
  • Assorted crackers, pretzels, and vegetables for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese and shredded cheddar with an electric mixer until smooth and well combined.
  2. Add green onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Form mixture into a ball using plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour to firm.
  4. Unwrap and shape into a pumpkin by rounding slightly and creating ridges with a butter knife.
  5. Roll in crushed Doritos until fully coated.
  6. Insert a tortilla chip or bell pepper stem in the top to resemble a pumpkin stem. Garnish with parsley.
  7. Serve with crackers, pretzels, and veggies on a platter.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute Neufchâtel cheese and reduced-fat cheddar. For spice lovers, add minced jalapeño. To make ahead, prep the cheese ball up to 2 days in advance and coat just before serving for best texture.
