Edible Sugar Cookie Dough Recipe: A Safe, No-Bake Treat

  • Author: Harmony

Description

Sugar cookie dough that can be eaten is a delightful, simple, and delicious treat that’s great to serve at any time. It’s simple to make and customizable with a variety of mix-ins. It is safe to eat without baking.

Ingredients

    • Flour: 1 1/2 cups (heat-treated to ensure safety).

    • Butter: 1/2 cup (1 stick), softened.

    • Sugar: 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 1/4 cup of powdered sugar.

    • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon.

    • Milk: 2-3 tablespoons (adjust for desired consistency).

    • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. The flour is heated and treated; begin by putting it in an oven-safe dish and baking it at 350 degrees for about 5-7 mins. The flour is stirred halfway through to ensure that it is heated evenly. This procedure removes any bacteria that might be present in the flour.
  2. Mix the sugar and butter in the large bowl of a mixing vessel; mix the sugar and butter by hand or a standing mixer until the mixture is fluffy and light. This gives the dough its silky texture.
  3. Add milk, vanilla, and salt; add the vanilla extract and salt, along with a pinch of the milk. Mix thoroughly to incorporate all ingredients.
  4. Add the flour; add the flour heated in the butter mix and stir until the dough begins to come together. This will create a thick, soft dough.
  5. Adjust the consistency. If you find the dough too dense, add a few more milk, a teaspoon at a time, until it has your desired texture.
