Ingredients
-
- Flour: 1 1/2 cups (heat-treated to ensure safety).
-
- Butter: 1/2 cup (1 stick), softened.
-
- Sugar: 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and 1/4 cup of powdered sugar.
-
- Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon.
-
- Milk: 2-3 tablespoons (adjust for desired consistency).
-
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
Instructions
- The flour is heated and treated; begin by putting it in an oven-safe dish and baking it at 350 degrees for about 5-7 mins. The flour is stirred halfway through to ensure that it is heated evenly. This procedure removes any bacteria that might be present in the flour.
- Mix the sugar and butter in the large bowl of a mixing vessel; mix the sugar and butter by hand or a standing mixer until the mixture is fluffy and light. This gives the dough its silky texture.
- Add milk, vanilla, and salt; add the vanilla extract and salt, along with a pinch of the milk. Mix thoroughly to incorporate all ingredients.
- Add the flour; add the flour heated in the butter mix and stir until the dough begins to come together. This will create a thick, soft dough.
- Adjust the consistency. If you find the dough too dense, add a few more milk, a teaspoon at a time, until it has your desired texture.
