A simple yet elegant treat featuring ripe cherries dipped in rich dark chocolate. These chocolate dipped cherries are surprisingly easy to make with just three ingredients and require no baking. Perfect for gifting or as a special indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 jar (10 oz) maraschino cherries with stems
  • 8 ounces high-quality dark chocolate baking bars or chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling (optional)
  • Crushed nuts or festive sprinkles for rolling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Drain maraschino cherries and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Combine chocolate and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Hold a cherry by its stem and dip into the melted chocolate, swirling to coat completely. Let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.
  4. Place the chocolate-dipped cherry on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Add toppings like sea salt or sprinkles immediately if desired.
  5. Repeat with remaining cherries, then refrigerate for 20 minutes or until chocolate is firm.

Notes

For fresh cherries, pit them and use toothpicks for dipping. Ensure cherries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from not setting properly. Store in refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for up to 3 months.
